St. MauritiusPrior to being demolished, the »Mauritiuskirche« was Cologne's oldest church, and had a uniformly vaulted basilica.
Today's building is one of the most interesting churches in the Rhineland. The tower crowned by a figure of St. Mauritius of the neo-Gothic church thus enthrals many who cast an eye over Cologne. Inside, the fork crucifix dating back to around 1415, and the cherubim on the flanking towers, works by Elmar Hillebrand, are particularly interesting. |
