MaternushausFollowing a construction period of five years, the Maternushaus was opened on 6th April 1983. Up to 1978, this had been the location of the St. Vincenz Hospital.
The architectural competition opened up by Cardinal Höffner and his vicar-general, Norbert Feldhoff, was won by the Cologne architect Schilling. Based on his design, which was then subject to several changes by Peter Kulka, the junior partner, who was taken over in 1979, the Maternushaus was constructed at a cost of Euro 28.12 million. 13 light flooded conference rooms, suitable for 5 to 500 people and equipped with the latest technology, as well as inviting inner court-yards and breaking |
