Consumer Goods

For hundreds of years consumers have valued products from Cologne. 300 years ago, in 1709, Johann Maria Farina, today the world's oldest perfume company, created a fragrance and named it »Eau de Cologne«.

100 years later the Muelhens company in Cologne started to promote its fragrance under the significant house number of »4711«; this name is owed to the system of numbering Cologne's houses used by the French revolutionary troops at the end of the 18th century.

More than fragrances

Over the last few decades, international companies like Barilla Wasa or Toys "R" Us have chosen Cologne as their centre for activities in Germany.
